What was it really that drew you to the MKZ?

Are you a Lincoln loyalist and refuse to drive anything other?

Liked the Fusion but didn't want to be so mainstream?

Design and Technology?

Or was it because there is no other car in segment that offers you the same features at that price point? To me this is the biggie, you can absolutely option an A6 or 5er to the same spec as MKZ, good luck getting out with your wallet in tact, I mean we're talking like $15-20K more for the german...

great value

lots of features for the price

and good styling.
The main thing that brought me to the Lincoln MKZ, besides working for them, is the styling. The new design is unlike anything out there. I am completely obsessed with the exterior lines and the modern touches in the interior.

First time I saw an MKZ i thought it was some British or German vehicle, then found out it's the new MKZ, amazed.

how are employee discounts? :D:D
Haha good point, working for Lincoln he probably got a good few thousand tacked off, maybe more?
Ha lets just say it was enough. :)
what do you do if you don't mind me asking?

Enough as in $5000k or more off enough? :D
dont think he will share that. not like we are going to get the same discount
Hey newbie here with a '14 MKZ Hybrid on order.

Just wanted to chime in on this one. My brother in law works for a Ford dealer so we will qualify for D plan pricing, which is $100 more than A plan. A plan is the best and is for Ford/Lincoln employees, not dealership employees.

So the pricing on my MKZ is right at $1500 under invoice. That's on a $46800 MSRP so a base MKZ D plan price might be less than $1500 under invoice, closer to $1300, who knows.

I don't want anyone thinking I'm pounding my chest about getting D plan pricing as I was just trying to answer the above posts :). In fact we'll see if I end up getting it because mysteriously, as we get closer to the car coming in, it's been hard to make contact with the brother in law and get the necessary papers and the pin # from him. Uh oh.....

Glad to be part of the forum and thanks.

I'm an Internet Sales Manager for a Ford-Lincoln dealer. As far as my discount goes (D-plan), it is $100 over A/Z plan. (Ford employee/retiree discount)

It was more than $1500 in savings but there is also commission money that Ford-Lincoln pays to the dealer. I was able to dig into this a little bit which helped sweeten the deal.

Not bad at all, better than paying MSRP or even more which some people might be

Any time! Im sure you will be able to with your experience with it. The time will come
I think you were talking to me? If so, I don't have it yet. It's on order and was just built a week ago on the 12th. Probably have it within a few weeks or less I think.

I'll definitely let you know on the mpg. I'm pretty anal when it comes comparing the computer vs hand calculating, yearly tracking etc., so I should be able to give some accurate numbers.

hand is always the most accurate. From what I understand most on board calculators track fuel flow not actual consumption so often times the figures are not a true representation...
