I have a 2013 MKZ Ecoboost. I posted, in another thread, my disappointment with the poor quality and careless workmanship in this car. Among the problems: cracked door trip, dashboard rattle/squeak, misaligned door trim, misaligned ambient light strip, upholstery gap on driver's door, autolamp malfunctioning. Most of these were corrected by the dealership, but not all of them. For example, the front roof pillar (the a-pillar) is misaligned about 3/8 inch when it meets the dashboard on the driver's side (it is aligned on the passenger side). It looks shoddy. The top door trim on the driver's door is slightly bent on one edge. It was bent about a half inch; the dealership "repaired" it and it is now about 1/4 inch bent. Here's my question: I was told my the dealership that these are "commercially acceptable" (exact quote). I countered by saying that I don't think I am being unreasonable as I have never brought a new car in for misaligned trim. Lincoln customer service is not helpful. They simply referred me back to the dealer and said they determine "commercially acceptable" limits. They said I can get a second opinion if I would like. I have owned Mercedes, Infiniti, and Cadillac in the past and never saw this kind of poor quality. Was I just lucky with the other brands? Am I being unreasonable?
