Trick to help car learn EV+ mode faster

For the system to learn locations faster, you can turn off/on the car. For example if you're home and parked. Power on and off the car so the computer can learn the location faster. It's just a little trick. I don't know exactly how long you leave it on for the gps to learn the location. From what I've heard EV+ can learn up to 10 locations.

This is how EV+ mode works: http://media.ford.com/article_display.cfm?article_id=37344

Thanks for sharing this. It makes sense, I bet when the system is running it has a ton of stuff running through it, so shutting the system on and off it just has less things going on in the initial stages of it being on.
good to know. so just parking and waiting there doesnt work.
It would be nice if there was a way to do this without having to turn on and off the MKZ though, but in the absence of that, this tip is good to know. Thanks!

There is, this tip is just to speed up the process...
By the way it's just full ignition off and on but not engine on, right?
Do you think there is a way to keep EV+ on all the time. That would be a good mod !

good to know for hybrid owners

I think it's going to be tough to do that, plus these cars are still new and I think most that have the, just get in and drive and thats all, don't care for anything else.
I know that it shouldn't need to be said, but seems that all things that don't need to be said, actually need to be said...

The best way to speed up the EV+ process is to make sure that EV+ mode is enabled.
