That's crazy, so I bet you feel like you have a 6cyl vehicle and not a four. It's good you like it, especially for someone that had powerful vehicles in the past.
drive modes can only do so much, it's really a combination of the ideal engine and transmission along with drive modesgood to know.
i would expect the same on the 3.7L though maybe not as exaggerated.
that is the whole point of having drive modes in the first place.
It's all win, not only do we get no turbo lag but the low end power thats well needed. So the small engine and ecoboost tech combined = one killer combo.its not turbo lag, EcoBoost engines were designed to eliminate Turbo lag, its quite a clever set up actually. We're all familiar (somewhat) with how turbos typically work, the difference for EcoBoost is direct injection. The fuel pump shoots fuel directly into the combustion chamber instead of into the intake port as usually. By doing it this way you eliminate waste, notice how EcoBoosts don't have the typical wastegate WOOSH.
the result is low end torque and elimination of lag.
the sport mode in the MKZ simply ups throttle response and keeps the necessary revs on tap longer..
