I know I am quite late to suggest you, but my suggestion will help you in the future, I recommend you to buy Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2, I also use this tire, These are excellent, Soft rubber compound grips in the Cold temps, I purchased it from Reecoupons.com at a reasonable price too. Plan to put on the All Season when warms up.

I just purchased a new 20109 MKZ and plan to buy winter wheels/tires via TireRack this fall. Had Michelin X-Ice on my last car and they lasted a really long time, so I'll try to find them in an 18" size. In Cleveland Ohio, they put down enough salt to cover the moon, so winter wheels are a must to keep the factory ones from corroding.

Here's a question. My Lincoln also has 245/40R19 - 26.7" diameter factory tires on it now and I'm planning on 18" snow wheels/tires.

Probably going with a 18x8" wide rim, thus looking for snows in the 3 possible sizes:

245/45R18 26.7" <-- factory dia. but sorta wide for snow
235/45R18 26.3" <-- 1/2" lower than factory
225/50R18 26.9" <-- best choice for snow, but MKZ is a heavy car

Narrower tires are actually better in snow, but I'm worried the 225 will be a bit narrow on an 8" rim.

Any recommendations?

Well, I finally made my decision and went with the narrower wheels, because of Lincoln's stock 55mm offset.

I chose MSW TYPE 86 GUNMETAL 18 X 7.5 with a 45mm offset. This way the backspacing difference is only around .13" or so and won't stick out too much.

For tires I went with 225/50R-18 MICHELIN X-ICE XI3 XL
