Hi folks, I have just purchased a 2014 Lincoln MKz, On the steering there are two paddles, one on the left with minus sign on it and one on the right with a plus sign on it. I've looked thru the owners manuals but can find no mention of them. What are they for and what do they do.
Thanks JMickey

Hey, so they are shifter paddles. Many high end manual cars come with them instead of the stick. They have two uses, I use the minus to shift down going up a hill and get more power by lowering a gear.

If you go into "sport" mode, the "s" on your gear tree, you an use these to manually shift the car. Automatic will still work if you choose not to use them, but once you hit it, it will go to the rev limiter before switching back over to fully automatic. This is onlt in sport mode. In regular drive it will transition back to fully automatic if you go above 3500, 4000 under low peddle pressure.
