Had my 2013 MKZ about 3 months now, a lot of false alarm issues for the first 5-6 weeks but most straightened out now.

Hope to trade info on the vehicle here and learn some new things

welcome to the forum!
what false alarm issues did you have with your MKZ within the first 5-6 weeks?
What color MKZ did you get? Make sure to post some pictures of it in it's appropriate color picture thread!

Systems going off line or not available.... warnings that were false about features failing..... colission alarms when there were no vehicles anywhere near me (over 500'), etc.

Color is topaz with the sand interior
welcome aboard, saw your issues with setting up a hot spot earlier. How are you liking the rest of your MKZ so far? This your first Lincoln, if so what are you coming to us from?
So how did you get these issues resolved? Did they fix themselves or were you making plenty of trips to the dealership?

I generally love the MKZ, but I must say that this is the first new car that has been back to the dealer so much. With the dealer a 40 minute drive, it has become very time consuming. I haven't even been able to rack up enough miles to change the oil yet and it has been back there 4 times (3 times it was there for 7-8 days).

This is my first Lincoln

Previous vehicle was a 2005 Lexus ES (I loved that car). I did look at the 2013 ES but did not like some of the new/rearranged features. The ES was in the shop only once (bad window regulator) in it's 8 years that I owned it.

As far as the resolution, they swapped out several computers and replaced the entire dash display module....the jury is still out if they cleared all the problems as I now have an adaptive speed control ghost and window issues.
Welcome I am glad your not pulling out your hair liek some of the other owners on here. Well beside all the issues you had to deal with how do you find the MKZ overall?

I do like it and get lots of complements on it, even from strangers. very roomy.....overall I'd rate it an 8.5 out of 10
what didnt you like about the ES? I kinda like how the new ES looks.
The new ES is a REAL Lexus unlike the last ES's, if it was still some fancy corolla i wouldn't say the same thing. I might get an ES over the MKZ

had the chance to see one in person....i was expecting to see some hint of a camry but as you reported it's a real lexus. the interior is my favorite:

but it's not perfect, the exterior is a bit awkwardly shaped:

The interior turned me off, and the change to the NAV system (mouse ball) was the killer.

Hated them when I had a BMW before the Lexus

im surprised to hear that, that is actually something i loved. it's what i first used on a BMW 7 series and dreamed of having it on a lower end cheaper luxurious car. A lot of people love them, so easy to navigate the infotainment screen.

I loved my 2005 ES but the 2013 just felt wrong sitting in the drivers seat. Layout of the dash was not as intuitive and the deep set screen and lack of a touch system turned me off. To each their own.
the new ES is by most a nice step up.

But to me its just a stripped down IS or GS interior.

Too cheap for me.

That's why they make different models.... to each their own.
