The MKZ has exceeded expectations by selling 3,300 vehicles in the month of May, much more than the 3000 units they sold at the same time in 2007. Unfortunately the same can't be said about the rest of the Lincoln line up. The brand only 23,514 vehicles in the U.S. through April, which is more than 13% below the same time last year.

In another study, one in five luxury owners are considering buying a Lincoln, which bodes well for the future of the company.

for their other vehicles that they offer the competition is tough. It's even tough for the MKZ but at least its got some limelight. I only know the Lincoln navigator and I think MKX which is the bigger and one class higher than the MKZ. I barely see any Lincolns on the road.

self driving tech is something we should watch out for in the MKZ. somewhere I heard self driving tech may make it's way in the MKZ or start at the top with the most expensive lincoln's
I think with current road infrastructures, self piloting cars are long time away. Maybe for highway driving or small country roads we might start seeing some advances. But I couldn't imagine this kind of technology any time soon in a densely populated area like a city.

it wont happen right away but I can see it happening late into the current MKZ generation, if not, it will have some entry level tech like this, nothing too crazy.

Well with the lane departure warning system and sensors in the works already on most luxury vehicles maybe some sort of system could work in harmony with all the componnents and voila self driving and steering cars!

Self driving cars...? That idea is a little far fetched I am surprised no one has mentioned flying cars yet lol.

There are just way too many variables and liabilities to deal with when it comes to things like that. Even for me I don't really trust the self parking feature let alone let it drive.

most self parking vehicles allow a human element to intervene so it's not that bad, its more like a luxury to me, not having to be super cautious about my surrounding when I park.

Also some cars are hard to average when parking due to their design and how the driver is positioned, so it helps.

With Google busy mapping the entirety of the Earth and already working on a self-driving car, I agree that this technology is not going to be usable in the very short term, but I definitely think that it is less far away then you might expect.
