I'm thinking of getting a deal on an end of model year 2013 MKZ (loaded up 103A) and was just wondering what kind of gas mileage current Ecoboost owners have been getting in their MKZs??

For you Hybrid owners, yes I know your mileage is much better, but I just didn't like the lower power & torque of the Hybrid engine - and I REALLY wanted to like it. I found it to be lower than what I can tolerate driving with my heavier "spirited" style of driving. And though the 3.7L V6 has more HP (300 vs. 240) the torque isn't that much greater (277 vs. 270) so the lower MPG it returns isn't worth it. Plus the 2.0L Turbo motor is quite powerful on its own. I couldn't tell that much of a difference between it and the V6 motor in performance in longer extended test drives. Plus I had a Fusion Titanium as a rental car for 4 days driving several hundred miles and the same 2.0L Ecoboost motor seemed to have good power to it.

I've had my MKZ (2.0L FWD) for about 4 days now and I'm getting about 26MPG in mixed driving. I'm coming from a 2012 Charger RT (5.7L) and a 2008 Pontiac G8 GT (6.0L), both give me about 20 MPG, which is great considering the level of performance, so I'll take 26 MPG from the MKZ.

the Ecoboost MKZ will probably be amazing.
I know a cop that gets to drive the V6 Ecoboost Taurus Interceptor at his unit and he says it gets amazing MPG with normal driving. Even with a bit of hard driving it still does very well.

Fuelly.com lists the average fuel efficiency reported by vehicle owners (31 reported) is 44.2 mpg. Does that seem a little high to anyone else?

I think it is mixing hybrid reports with gas-powered reports, so maybe it is not a very good indicator.

Yes, most all of the 2013 MKZ's on Fuelly.com are Hybrid Owners reporting on there. I think there is like one 2.0L Ecoboost owner and one V6 owner reporting on there. The rest are Hybrid owners and that is what is driving the number so high. Though I feel that those Hybrid owners are more of the fuel conscious "hyper-miler" type of folk - hence they're reporting their mileage results regularly using Fuelly. If I had a Hybrid and was driving it the way I normally drive, then my numbers would be MUCH lower than the 40's. :(

it's true that people that by hybrids are more fuel conscious, after all they did buy the hybrid model expecting to get better gas mileage, chance are they try be as good as they can with the amount of gas they use when driving. it's actually easy to spot hybrids on the road, just by the way they drive
