The only advantage getting the non hybrid version is upgrading to AWD MKZ. Otherwise, the hybrid FWD is superior than the petrol FWD version. The hybrid gets 45mpg vs the petrol's 18 tp 22mpg depending on whether you get the V6 or V8.

How I see it, no matter what hybrid you buy these days you are not saving much money at all if any. Buying a hybrid you'll have to want one because your a tree hugger, not because you think you'll save money, cause the cost of a hybrid vehicle is quite a lot and would take 7-10 years, maybe more, for you to break even.

I rather get the ecoboost 2.0 liter engine and drive like a normal person and not like an asshat

From what i heard about the MKZ hybrid is that it has a decent torque range for accelerating in and out of the traffic but its the CVT transmission that makes it less fun. And not to mention underpowered for such a heavy car.

whether its worth it or not there are some positive sides to owning a hybrid is that you won't be seeing the gas station as much. Coming from a V6 I hate dealing with the fuel economy but the trade off is the power. I could under stand why people have complained about the MKZ the CVT has its down side but makes up for it in fuel economy.
