The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid features a regenerative braking system which helps with charging the battery when brakes are applied, getting you more range in the process! Check out the official Lincoln video below for a demonstration of this technology.
Regenerative braking systems are taking over as the most beneficial function ever. If they could only apply this on none hybrid to help with charging the battery too instead of just relying on the distributor.I'd actually like to see some stats on how much power we can potentially get from regenerative braking with city driving. The general idea is that a vehicle with regenerative braking will get more MPG's in city than on highway, the MKZ should be like this.
I am sure some one has that in the works already. Make sense though but kinetic energy is a great idea to stay green. All hybrids should utilize this technology really, it would sell. Now this has me think can you convert the energy from turning the steering wheel and pressing the pedals?
