What does the tri coat at the end of the color mean? It's not the usual thing to hear when it comes to paint color. i was expecting pearlescent or metallic. Is it the extra coat of protection or extra clear coats.

I hate it when manufacturers have restrictions for what particular colors you can have to match up with the outside. Just give us what we want. Why would they do that in the first place I never knew.Any restrictions as to what paint colors are allowed for the different interior choices?
Interesting... where did you get this information about the tri-coat from? Do you work for a body shop? For the tri-coat paints the first is a basecoat of color. Next a second coat of transparent color, called the midcoat is applied and finally, a coat of clearcoat. The midcoat color is applied very thin and adds additional depth to the paint.
The tri-coat color is meant for a particular look with the finish and talked about as not being the most durable when it comes to knicks and rock chips.
