Interesting... but I don't know how dependable it is really when the car drives it self. I would like to see some kind of statement from lincoln or ford saying they would be fully responsible if it were to hit any object. Doubt that would happen though.

I like that feature since I am not much of a parallel parking person myself and I could see this helping a lot but I am also afraid of it hitting another vehicle. i would like to see one work in person and many times in different conditions before I put my money on it.

I see objects around it being a problem. How would it be able to navigate around people and cars and not be a nuisance, will be interesting to see how car makers use their tech to try to replace the human element when it comes to situations like these, cause I feel it's needed. Audi had the most impressive self-driving and self-parking production-like vehicle doing a demo but it was doing it's demo in a dead parkade.

Seems like this tech is mainly to help people get into spots they find as they have to line the vehicle up with where they want to go and it does the rest.

I have a feeling that those proximity sensors detect both humans and dead objects but probably recognized them both the same. The only thing is moving object would be a concern like humans and other cars. for example if a vehicle was coming close at a high rate of speed how would the vehicle's system react to that.

There are many variables in the system. I guess it would be best if we can see a demonstration up close and come up with different scenerios for the MKZ. Otherwise I am still skeptical about the system. Especially if my daughter gets a hold of the car and tries using it I wouldn't be comfortable with it.

Considering how this feature has made it in to the MKZ and for the public I am sure they went through an extensive amount of testing before letting it get to consumers hands. I think we can expect that from Lincoln. They wouldn't want to ruin their name and reputation over night for something like this.
