JD Power has named Lincoln as the 5th least appealing luxury brand in its latest Automotive Performance, Execution and layout study. Customers are asked to evaluate their car on 77 criteria and then those scores are translated to a score on a 1,000 point scale. The industry average for luxury brands was 840. Here are the bottom 5 luxury brands and their scores.

5. Lincoln (835)
4. Cadillac (826)
3. Infiniti (826)
2. Acura (814)
1. Volvo (812)

Here's what Autoguide had to say about Lincoln.

Ford’s luxury arm scored five points shy of the premium industry average but continues to impress with the MKX taking the Midsize Premium SUV category in this year’s Initial Quality Study. Lincoln is actually the most appealing luxury automaker from America and is second only to Lexus for a premium brand not from Europe. Through the first half of the year, Lincoln’s sales have improved by in recent months has seen a slight drop. The company hopes to continue its growth with new models on the horizon.

5th worst isn't so bad. Which brands beat Lincoln? Lexus and the Germans? I guess Jaguar too. It's really not too shabby. Plus I think that since the survey is based on customer surveys, there could be some bias just because people are more indoctrinated to the German brands then other luxury brands.
