Often times the extra money you would save on gas by buying a hybrid vehicle is outweighed by the extra cost of buying the vehicle itself. That is not the case with the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. Ford has decided to price the hybrid model of the Lincoln exactly the same as the regular version of the vehicle. This is the first time that any car company has done this.

How is Ford able to do this and still remain profitable? Do hybrids actually cost more money to produce, or have car companies just been gouging people until now?

Is that because it was priced higher before, or just because people have some type of natural aversion to hybrids? Everything I've heard about the MKZ Hybrid has been positive, so I am surprised by that.
