Anyone else notice the absurd glare the MKZ has right over the gauges about 70% of the time during the day. Not for anything but these cars were built in SUN DRENCHED Mexico, someone couldn't of rolled one outside and checked?
good old good enough I suppose... just frustrating for $50k
Not that you should have to do this, but is there some type of cover thing that you could get that takes away glare. I imagine they have it for Tvs, and computer screens, and now car interiors. If you care enough and are a DIY kind of person...
I think it's just a vinyl glare piece similar to those shields for computer screens and cell phone. You might just be able to get a small roll enough to cover the gauge but you would have to do the cutting.
I have the same problem with the center console display. Especially bad with backup camera. Speaking of the backup camera, it is completely USELESS in the rain. And seeing as it rains everyday in south Florida in the summer, it is very annoying
I think sobe531 is use to using the camera function. Obviously the mirrors are there but who wouldn't take advantage of the cameras. It is a LUXURY right?
So what, Luxury is not an excuse for driving improperly. a backup Camera is nice if your backing up close to a wall or reversing into a parking spot and dont want to hit the other car behind you, but a back up camera doesnt show you whats happening in blind spots and on your flanks.
There is a solution to the problem. Either Lincoln comes out with a replacement lens for the camera where it's beveled so water drips away from it or they relocate the camera.
From the sound of it really it shouldn't be that hard to fix but what is taking them so long to figure it out. Sometimes I think it's forums like these that pick up these things way faster than automakers themselves.
So have any of you out there found a solution to this gauge glare problem or have mentioned it to the dealership when in for service?
