Ford Recalling 2013 MKZs, among others

2021 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Vendetta
Ford is recalling about 465,000 car and SUVs due to fuel tank leaking and fire fears. This will be a global recall on the Fusion, Explorer, Taurus, Flex, Police Utility and Police Interceptor. As well as the Lincoln MKS, MKT and MKZ. All vehicles are from the 2013 model year.

So far no fires or crashes have occurred so far, so this is a proactive action by Ford and they will replace the fuel delivery module on all vehicles.

Good to know Ford is on the lookout for issues/recalls.
Well the top brass from Ford say they are taking new measures in ensuring quality control at their plants now. But they pretty much blamed parts manufacturers for their reliability problems. Hopefully this recall by Ford is the beginning of action and no more tired excuses.
Well they shouldn't be having these issues in the first place. this is some scary stuff imagine driving and all of a sudden a fire starts underneath your hood. What do you do at that moment.
Is this something new? I swear the ford fusions had a recall for a hood fire where the coolant was leaking and combining with the fuel causing a fire in the engine bay. So it's happening again... oh my. does this change anything for you guys because this is giving me second thoughts.
I just think its sad that Ford has to deal with these ongoing problems. They always have recalls. Almost like its mandatory for the brand. but I am sure they will deal with the issue no problem, just be glad that they figured it out before you did.
