Ford says that the 2015 Ford Mondeo will share its platform with several new models from Lincoln.

Darren Palmer, Ford's assistant global line director for CD platform cars, says "the suspension and platform were developed to be capable for Lincoln as well, so it needs to be state of the art."

The first Lincoln that will use the CD4 platform, which underpins the Edge SUV, future s-Max and Galaxy minivans, will be the MKX luxury crossover.

If the Ford Mondeo Vignale Concept shows us anything about a future Lincoln model, I think that the next MKX will be a success.

I don't want to be rude but I might have to. You know Mondeo is Fusion, and you know Fusion is MKZ... The first Lincoln that will use the CD4 has already used CD4, its called the MKZ;)

CD4 is simply an evolution of the CD3 which was the LAST Gen Fusion/MKZ. CD3 already has the current EDge/MKX on it as well.

As I said it will be underpinning several Lincoln models. The MKZ is one model. So the point is that there will be even more models that will be built on the CD4 platform.

Thank-you Mr.Sass over here ^^^ :p

And I did know the Mondeo is the Fusion thank-you again.

Just saying that the fact that this is news makes little sense. We've known for a long time the Mondeo was MKZ, we've known for equally as long that MKX/Edge share their platform with Modeo/Fusion and by extension MKZ.

I mean its no surprise that when Mondeo/Fusion/MKZ moved to CD4 for the current gen the eventual redesign for Edge/MKX would make the same migration from CD3 to CD4...

but hey a press release is a press release ;):D

I mean it say s several new models, and at this point we don't even know what the next model will be for sure, it's just speculation. At least now we know that there will be more than one more model based on the Mondeo platform. It's one piece of information that lets us speculate more.
