I had a chance to sit in an MKZ the other day and one of the coolest features was also one of the features that worried me. The center stack has no buttons, its all touch. While this looks really nice, i am wondering if people find it easy to use while you are driving. Seems like buttons would be easier to fiddle with while driving.

I know that they changed this for the MKC, so there must have been complaints.

I don't like it and the main reason I didn't get a new gen MKZ. No feedback, hard to reach, and poor sensitivity, I will pass.

It seems Lincoln and Ford will switch back to physical buttons though, hopefully the 2015 version will have physical buttons

also while the touch button shifters are cool I don't think most Lincoln buyers get it. I was at the dealer and a older lady was test driving a new MKZ and it took her 20 minutes to figure how to put the car in reverse.

Update:

I have found the most time consuming option.. that can be a bit frustrating, would be adjusting the climate. Take the word frustrating gently, I'm extremely impatient. I have well over 1500 miles on her now and have loved every minute of it. I must admit, I was encountered by a very dull individual... she asked if it was a Dodge Dart?! I was crushed. Ha ha. Anyways, I only have an issue with the climate when attempting to change it 3 or 4 degrees higher/lower sometimes you have to push it several times to move up or down one.
Learn the voice commands for the operating the climate and life will be so much easier. I learn a few commands every week and this has helped with getting to know what I can manage versus taking my off the road.

I've had my MKZ a month. The slider and other buttons for audio and climate on the dash used to beep when touched. This was helpful when driving. They just one day stopped beeping. They work but there is no audible beep.

The buttons in my Lincoln touch still beep when depressed and I see where those have an option to turn them off or back on, but that doesn't seem to do anything to my other controls.

Any thoughts why they stopped beeping?

The buttons on my dash also stopped beeping. Was wondering if I just imagined that they originally made the beep sound. Took the car in for scheduled maintenance and told them about it. They said they checked it, took off the front panel, did a re-seat on a connector and everything was fine. Drove away...still no beep.

All you need to know is the location of the "MIC" button on the steering wheel. Then just talk.... of course it helps to know what the commands might be. "CLIMATE 72 degrees." does it for me! Or "SiriusXM channel 5" works great too.
