you're right about having no buttons. I think if they had at least integrate a knob to navigate the screen and to select and deselect things, it would help.

there are times you will want to control things on the screen but at the same time keep your eyes on the road. at least with a knob you can feel what you're doing, on a screen thats impossible.

its cool but the biggest detractor is that you have no haptic or touch feed back. You dont know if you pressed what you pressed when you pressed it...

But the buttons do work well..

Yup, thats my biggest problem with it. It helps to have that feedback, I find myself changing stations and doing other things while driving, keeping my eyes on the road and working the controls, knowing what im doing with the feedback I get.

It's rare that screens ever have any issues, it was only the old LCD screen's from the 90's that were a problem since over time they bleed.

These new screens can likely out last the life of the car.

Software that runs it is something to be concerned about.
I know Ford isn't well known for their software, even Cadillac, domestic car makers need to improve.

Hi all, going to throw in my opinion. Even though I've only had my Z since Friday, I already find myself getting use to the all touch controls. Granted your eyes are off the road a little bit longer but I feel like over time it will come without much thought. Changing the volume/fan speed is very easy considering its all done by sliding your finger vs searching within the screen. Anyways, I find it to be fairly easy to use and enjoy the clean look.

Not bad at all, at least you're getting used to it. I'm afraid some people may not and find that they have to keep their eyes on it if they want to work the functions

Sometimes it's just a matter of getting used to the interface, at least once you're familiar with it, you just might have to look at it for a split second at times just to make sure you are pressing the right stuff.

It does.
Unfortunately it will never be as easy to use as older systems that just had knobs and buttons. There will always be limits to trying to use a screen while not looking at it.

Knowing how to work the systems do help make your life easier, might as well make the most of it!
