It would help a lot, if they want to be a better brand they need more unique things going on and not so many mainstream thingsThose would be some pretty cool headlights. Right now Lincoln's headlights aren't that distinctive so it would be a good move to create a headlight that is iconic for Lincoln.
If they just offer them as an option then it won't matter quite as much how expensive they are because people can choose if they are worth the money or not.
Yup and eventually it will trickle down to the aftermarket just like how projector setups have but these will be more expensive to work with for a while.Yea it seems that LED is gong to be or already is the luxury industry's standard. If Lincoln really wanted to get the jump then they could invest in laser headlights, but I think they are already behind so I'm not sure if they would really see the pay off there.
I wonder why Lincoln didn't use those 'twinkle' headlights (thats what I'm calling them) on the production MKZ. Do you think they were too expensive, or perhaps not bright enough?
likely why you get this twinkle twinkle little star effect happening on the concept mkz, its the only way to get sufficient spread...i'm not sure how the internals of these led lights work. but i do know led lights are very directional unlike xenon bulbs that give a 360 degree spread of light. so the projectors would have to be completely different in an led headlight.
That could be true since the Acura jewel eye LED headlights also seem to have multiple led lights in it with plenty of materials to direct the light in different directions. I think that that could mean that the cars of the future will end up having far different looking light than we are used to now.likely why you get this twinkle twinkle little star effect happening on the concept mkz, its the only way to get sufficient spread...
well and Audi has been working on directional LEDs and laser for quite some time, so that when you're turning on say a dark and winding road instead of the headlamps trailing off into the weeds they stay focused on the roadway. Although directional lights are really nothing new, I believe there had been moving projectors/halogens in the past...That could be true since the Acura jewel eye LED headlights also seem to have multiple led lights in it with plenty of materials to direct the light in different directions.
