Attention - Password and Security Update

Hello all,

Over the next few days we will be implementing some changes to our forum password strength and password expiration policies. To make sure you continue having the best experience possible on the community, we regularly monitor the site and the Internet to keep everyone's account information safe. We've recently become aware of a potential risk to some accounts coming from outside of this community. Just to be safe, we are implementing the following changes to improve security even further:

1) We are asking everyone to change their passwords (and will force a one time reset). Along with every user on the forum, new passwords will need to be more complex, and can't be simple words (sorry, you can't have "fluffy" as your password anymore!). Please use a password unique to this community. Reusing passwords can expose your account indirectly when other websites (Twitter, Linkedin, Badoo, etc) are compromised; and

2) Your passwords will expire on a 365 day basis. When you login on the 366th day, you will have to change it.

We'll also be sending out an email to users to let them know about the changes, in upcoming weeks.

Thanks all,

Helena

While I appreciate the efforts, I have not been active on this forum in some time due to the high volume of spam threads and posts. It really got quite annoying and saw no effort on the part of the admin team to curtail it even though I made efforts in reporting it during my earlier days hear.

I also found another forum that is better equipped in dealing with issues of the MKZ and is quite active with some dealers and Lincoln in general. I highly recommend trying it

Spam that is reported is removed. While you may not "see" the actions we take in trying to curtail spammers, we are busy in the back end setting up IP blocks and adding the spammers to a blocked IP list which is checked vs. new registration.

As for the complains, if you have an issue with how the site is being handled, you can bring it up to us personally and we can discuss it.

Please understand that we watch over many sites, unless these issues are sent to us directly via the Site Help section, PM or contact us methods, we may not see them. We appreciate the effort you have put in to report the spam, and apologize that it has not been acted on sufficiently.

We are working hard to get this site back to great health. With that said, by putting up a competitors site, while complaining about ours, only drives the members/life out of the site.

Please continue to report spam as you see it, and post any of your concerns in the Site Help section. Please avoid posting links to site that can potentially hurt the health of ours.

Thanks,
- JB
