a new MKZ Rival

Acura revealed the new midsize TLX this morning, check it out....

If people harp on the MKZ for being a Fusion, they should rip the TLX apart for being nothing more than an Accord....

2 engine options
2.4L four-cylinder matched with an 8-speed DCT.
3.5L V-6 models will have a nine-speed traditional auto.
The kicker, If you want AWD you’ll have to have the V-6.

So you cant get AWD with the DCT and you cant get the DCT with the V6....

Silly, Silly. No price info or power figures. It's certainly not as elegant as the MKZ in any way shape or form....

I think that the TLX has some nice details though. The silver accents on the bottom of the front and rear bumper. It is definitely a nicer version of an Accord, but I think it is an improvement for Acura. We will see if they dumb it down once the production version comes out.

yea they have quite the winner on their hands:confused:

the ILX sold 20,430 cars this year, compared to the MKZ which moved 32K and change and thats with a $10K premium. Its not a direct comparison but if people werent smitten with the ILX, how can they be smitten with a fatter AND more expensive ILX (TLX)

I think the TLX is great for Acura. But when you compare it to the rest of what the industry has to offer, it sucks. I still like it.
The TLX is available in AWD and in the 2.4L trim comes with a 65 gear transmission. :p

Not comparable to the little ILX

The TLX 2.4L will likely compare well to the MKZ.

The V6 might push the price a bit too far up.

Still have to wait and see the interior of the TLX.

I'm talking about styling. not a straight up comparison. The styling hasnt sold well on ILX, so i dont see how it could be appealing on the fatter TLX.

Now do you think there will be a TLX Hybrid? Would it be a good idea to compare it to the MKZ hybrid?

I have a feeling those two will be direct rivals or come close enough
