I have a 2017 MKZ that has a tapping sound coming from the engine. When we bought the car in July 2019 we were told it was normal but I have yet to hear another mkz make the same noise. It's almost like someone ran it out of oil.
- So my question, is this covered under the 4yr/40,000 mile warranty?

I think not but you should check your dealer for clarification because it can save you some money but if still do check local mechanics that they are way cheaper and you'll get the same service

Check the bearing on the idler pulley also.
