The redesigned 2013 Lincoln MKZ is ready to hit dealerships in late fall of this year, and when it does it will come with a $35,925 base price tag.

Two engine options are available on the new MKZ. The base model will net you a 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, projected to make 240 horsepower and achieve 22 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, while an optional 3.7-liter V6 can be had for a power boost, up to a projected 300 hp.

Going after the Lexus ES350, the Lincoln is not short of interior technology and features. MyLincoln Touch infotainment system, LED headlights and taillights, Lincoln drive control and push button start all come standard on the MKZ. A 15.2-square-foot retractable sunroof, which is a class exclusive feature, can be had for $2,995, while other class exclusive features include push-button shift, 10.1-inch LCD instrument cluster, active noise control and an 8-inch center mounted touch screen.

The MKZ hybrid is also on option, and does not add anything to the price tag, still starting at $35,925. All the same options are available on both the gas and hybrid models, with four trim levels in total.

Safety features on the MKZ includes lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, inflatable rear seat belts and rear-view camera, among others.

“Along with a reinvented customer experience of delightful personal service, we are confident Lincoln will be on the leading edge of attracting a new class of premium buyers who delight in discovering new and better ways of rewarding and distinguishing themselves from the norm,” said VP of global marketing Jim Farley.
