2012 MKZ - LearCar2U programming problem

Purchased a used 2012 MKZ. Genie garage door opener , installed new in 2013,
worked ok in previous car (2014 Impala). Have tried several methods of programing suggested by LearCar2U, Genie, Lincoln manual. None have worked.
Any suggestions appreciated.
