gauge glare

Anyone else notice the absurd glare the MKZ has right over the gauges about 70% of the time during the day. Not for anything but these cars were built in SUN DRENCHED Mexico, someone couldn't of rolled one outside and checked?

good old good enough I suppose... just frustrating for $50k

zep, you're exactly right. I have also experienced the glare on my MKZ and it is frustrating.

Not that you should have to do this, but is there some type of cover thing that you could get that takes away glare. I imagine they have it for Tvs, and computer screens, and now car interiors. If you care enough and are a DIY kind of person...

I think it's just a vinyl glare piece similar to those shields for computer screens and cell phone. You might just be able to get a small roll enough to cover the gauge but you would have to do the cutting.

Yea probably, its on the list for the weekend, but thats not the point. I paid 50k for my MKZ and i have to hack around with a DIY vinyl screen?

Completely agree with you. On a $50,000 luxury sedan you shouldn't have to do much of anything yourself. ****, the car nearly drives itself. An annoying problem, but at least it has a relatively easy fix. I wonder if Ford/Lincoln is aware of this problem? It seems like the company should have learnt about glare issues long ago and added in this anti-glare vinyl on all models (not just the luxury ones.)

Such a small thing, but such a large disappointment.

I have the same problem with the center console display. Especially bad with backup camera. Speaking of the backup camera, it is completely USELESS in the rain. And seeing as it rains everyday in south Florida in the summer, it is very annoying

Yup its where the camera is where it accumulates rain or dust in front of the camera.

Why, does your MKZ not have mirrors?

I think sobe531 is use to using the camera function. Obviously the mirrors are there but who wouldn't take advantage of the cameras. It is a LUXURY right?
